Prayer

'Actually Jesus' use of "Abba praying" was an inclusive action. By the use of the diminutive for "father", Jesus reveals that our relationship with God involves not only the strenght & empowerment commonly identified with masculinity, but also the nurture & caring intimacy often assosiated with femininity.' - Richard J. Foster: 'Prayer'

Our Pastor did a series of sermons on this. I remember him saying that often we associate the term "Father" with the negative aspects of parenting such as discipline and authority; however God is also "Daddy" and therein lies love, acceptance and forgiveness.
